Adjust Excel settings

Start Excel.
|

In order to attach an add-in, a workbook must be open in Excel (It doesn't matter
what the workbook is).
|

Adjust Excel display settings (Optional).
|

In Excel 2007, choose Office button | Excel Options (Alt F I). In the Popular page,
set Use this font to Arial and Font size to 8.
In Excel 2010 or later, choose File | Options (Alt F T). In the General page, set Use this
font to Arial and Font size to 8.

Adjust Excel's macro settings to allow Genie to run.

In Excel 2007, choose Office button | Excel Options (Alt F I).
In Excel 2010 or later, choose File | Options (Alt F T).
In all Excel version, select the Trust Center page and choose Trust
Center Settings…. The Trust Center dialog box displays. On the Macro Settings page,
place a tick against Trust access to the VBA project object model. In the Add-ins
page, ensure that the options Require Application Add-ins to be signed by Trusted
Publisher and Disable all Application Add-ins (may impair functionality) are not
ticked.

Attach GenieMini add-in
|

Open the Add-Ins dialog box.
|
|
|
In Excel 2007, choose Office button | Excel Options. In Excel 2010 or later, choose File
| Options. The Excel Options dialog box appears. In the Add-Ins page, select Excel
Add-ins from the Manage drop-down list and choose Go….
|

The Add-Ins dialog box appears.
|
|

Choose Browse and locate the file AbleOwlGenieMini.xlam, which is in
the folder you put it in. Select it and choose OK.

Choose NO if there is a prompt that as you to copy the add-in
|

|
The AbleOwlGenieMini program folder is located in the folder you extracted it to
in the Download and extract procedure.

Place a tick against AbleOwl GenieMini add-in and choose OK.
|

|
In Excel, the three ribbon tabs GenieOnlineMini, ESPMini and UtilsMini appear to
the right of the Ribbon.

|
GenieMini Access is denied error
|
|
|
The problem:
|
|
Choose GenieOnline | Admin | Subscribe.
|
|
An Access is denied error message appears such as shown above.
|
|
There are a number of options that have the same result.
|
|
The solution:

In Windows Explorer, right-click the folder name that you have GenieMini in.
|
|
(2)
|
Choose Properties.
|
|
(3)
|
Choose Security.
|
|
(4)
|
Select Users and your user name.
|
|

|
Choose Edit.
|
|

|
Tick Allow for Full control.
|
|
(7)
|
Choose OK and OK again.
|
|

|
Return to Excel. The problem should be solved.
